About Us

I finished writing Stories from Homewood, Adventures in a Secret World, Book 1 in 2022. My wife and I spent most of that year editing and studying our options for publishing. I had a clear vision of what I wanted for this book that included an adventure story with real life challenges but without meanness. Fun but with personal growth. Lessons but without preaching. And I wanted full color illustrations. And original songs. The more we studied the more likely it seemed that traditional publishing might require rewriting the book, removing expensive illustrations, and could take years. We believe in the value of this book and decided to publish it ourselves.

That’s when the idea for Gathering Stone Publishing began. In Stories from Homewood, the residents of Homewood get together each month at the Gathering Stone to do three things:

• We gather to tell.
• We gather to listen.
• We gather to remember.

Fortunately, those three actions fit our idea of what Gathering Stone Publishing can be. We want books that tell great stories in whatever format seems most appropriate. We want books that we want to listen to, over and over. We want books that make us remember people, places, times, lessons, dreams, and every other element that make our lives interesting and unique.
